Compare and Contrast Week 7

Compare and Contrast Week 7

Q Topic: For this paper, you will be writing a 3-4 page compare/contrast essay. The compare and contrast mode of writing requires writers to assess two topics on BOTH their similarities and differences. You will be exploring BOTH similarities and differences for this essay. For example, a cause essay might compare and contrast the similarities and differences between an HMO and a PPO or the similarities and differences between an accounting and a finance course. You may choose topics that have more similarities than differences or vice versa. There does not have to be the same number of comparisons and contrasts in the essay. The topic must be related either to your current career or the career into which you intend to transition upon graduation. Use the paper template in the Week 7 module to properly format your essay in APA page format. There is a video on the compare and contrast essay in the video resource library. You can review the student sample essay and a handout on the compare and contrast essay genre in the Week 7 module. Procedure: This week you are turning in your final draft of the compare/contrast essay with any needed revisions as suggested by your instructor from the rough draft. Your paper must include: - Correct APA format in the provided template in Week #7 - An introduction with a hook/attention-grabber - A specific thesis identifying the specific comparisons AND contrasts of the paper's topics - Multiple detailed body paragraphs focused on one similarity or differnce per paragraph - Transitions, topic sentences, and concluding sentences for each body paragraph - A conclusion with a transition, specific summary of body paragraph topics, and a concluding technique - Formal APA grammar and wording You must submit your final draft as an MS Word attachment (.doc or .docx ONLY) by clicking on the blue Submit Assignment tab at the top of the page.
